Alert: False story on embryonic stem cell blindness cure circulating

I have narrowed down the source of the story to this article.

The article states that the girl was treated with umbilical cord blood stem cells - not embryonic stem cells.

This is the treatment that CAN cure blindness, but not in all circumstances.

Dakota, who was born blind, is the first British patient to undergo the new type of therapy.

The £30,000 treatment, which involves stems cells taken from an umbilical cord being fed into her forehead, has allowed her to see people, objects, colours and lights around her.
