This week, Gil decided to "lighten up" a bit. Yet he still had to throw in a little jab here and there. For example, he just had to say that Texas (a conservative state) - the home state of George W Bush, has the highest rate for out-of-wedlock births.
Really? Unfortunately, no reference of link was provided, but I found some information at the CDC website for 2002.
Texas, the home state of George W Bush, does not have an unusually high rate according to this data from 2002. Clearly, there are many other states with just as high or higher rates.
According to this link, Texas is ranked 27th.
