Launching new "Weasel of the Month" segment

The 10th Edition of the Online Merriam Webster dictionary defines a weasel as a "a sneaky, untrustworthy, or insincere person".

For example, if someone would repeat a fabrication over and over again about Yukio Asano being sentenced to 15 years for waterboarding when it had very little (if anything at all) to do with it - that is a weasel.

If someone says there are 500,000 frozen embryos for embryonic cell research that are slated for destruction and conveniently forgets to research to find out that the true number is 11,000 - which are too degraded for good research anyway - that is a weasel.

If someone would say that Cheney tortures using waterboarding, yet doesn't bat an eye at the Lyndon B Johnson administration who has photo proof of waterboarding - that is a weasel.

If someone would hope to get elected and promise not to let gas price levels get nearly as high as $3.00 a gallon and it goes up to $3.20 a gallon - that's a weasel.

In fact, a lot of liberals are flat-out weasels.

Do they realize it? I think some do it intentionally. Some just follow the leader. They blindly believe that if they elect a liberal Democrat - things in Iraq will magically transform. In their mind - maybe it does.

In reality - they are weasels.

May 2007 - the first month for this segment has a weasel. It is non-other than Gil Smart at LNP. He is a first-class weasel. So far this month, his columns haven't been too weaselly. That's a good thing. Let's hope it stays that way. His track record has won him this prestigious first award.

Did you see waterboarding on there? I didn't.

The link you mentioned has been posted on this site previously:

    http://smartretorts.blogspot.com/2007/05/waterboarding-under-lyndon-b-johnson.html

    Specifically, refer to:

    http://lawofwar.org/Water_Torture_Article.htm

if you want to see ALL THE RELEVANT CHARGES THAT RESULTED IN 15 YEARS.

    YOU WILL ALSO NOTE THIS:

...None of the specifications were on water torture per se, but specifications 2 and 9 refer to forcing prisoners into a tank of water, 2 is 5 unknown pows, 9 is throwing American POW James E Martin into a tank of water. The testimony discussed infra ties those specifications into water torture...

    THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

    LIARS.
