Oh, lookee, we got our own near-Persian Gulf of Tonkin incident.
Perhaps Iran really is stupid enough to “harass” the massive U.S. fleet in the Gulf. Sure would be convenient for the neocons who remain intent upon war with Iran if they were.
I previously commented on this little jewel on Gil Smart's Lancaster Online blog. But it just deserves so much more commentary.
The Gulf of Tonkin incident, which occurred in 1964, was under a Democrat President and a Democrat-controlled Congress. What a knucklehead for criticizing "neocons" for NOT doing what Democrats actually DID in 1964.
You would have thought the Democrats learned their lesson after electing Harry Truman - a man who never graduated college - to the US Presidency. You know, the man who a-bombed two Japanese civilian cities like an Al Qaeda terrorist would.
